Hi Folks. I would like to introduce you to he Hungry Paws Initiative. Hungry Paws is intended to be a one time, short term bridge to help animals in need during this unique crisis. Our theory is that right now, there are folks who don't have enough money to feed themselves much less their animals. We don't want people to surrender their animals to the Shelters because they cannot afford them right now.
If they surrender them, we will end up feeding them in the shelters anyways, so let's take a proactive step of providing food and supplies to them in advance. As the economy continues to open up, people go back to work, and paychecks continue to flow, hopefully folks will be able to return to their previous budgets.
Till then, it is up to us to provide for these wonderful animals. Dave and Larry from Petsource has lined up a special buys of food from their manufacturers to incent us. Blue Ridge Humane Society is going to be the portal for the money, but will be distributing some of it to other, smaller, but fine shelters. The ultimate goal is to get that food out to the homes, and into the food bowls across our community.
100% of the proceeds from the drive go directly into the fund, there is no overhead at all. Share this with whomever you like, with anyone who you think will help. Putting our money where our mouth in, Sally and I are in for $100. Who else is in?
